Blame it on Fox News
A Tennessee Democrat has apologized for making comments in a Nashville newspaper connecting Barack Obama with terrorism.
His excuse: He watches Fox News.
In his letter of apology to the state Democratic Party Executive Committee, committee member Fred Hobbs wrote:
I was not as well prepared as I should have been when speaking with reporters, and I should [...]

You can make your sections now in the Final Four:

VP Madness - Round 3

Wesley Clark and Joe Biden have survived Round 2 and I think they’ll make it to the Final Four.

VP Madness (Round 2)
If you voted in Round 1 of CQ’s “VP Madness” last week, you can now check the results and make new picks for Round 2.
My pick (Wesley Clark) is still in the running and I still like Joe Biden’s chances.
Unfortunately, General Clark didn’t make the short list of VP candidates leaked to MSNBC’s First Read [...]

Calling the Race
I suspect that as the remaining super delegates trickle toward Obama today that the new services will follow suit and begin calling Barack Obama the winner of the 2008 Democratic primary.
The Associated Press calls it for Obama at 1:28 CDT today.
NBC calls for Obama at 3:00 CDT today.
ABC calls it at 5:30 CDT today.
As of [...]

Where We Are - What Went Wrong
Barack Obama is 39.5 delegates short of the 2,118 delegates (now) needed to secure the Democratic nomination for president.
Hillary Clinton is 198 delegates short of 2,118, which means she needs about 84% of the 235.5 remaining pledged and super delegates to be nominated.
NBC reports that approximately 18 remaining super delegates in the Senate and at [...]

A Ticket I Can Live With
Barack Obama inched closer to the Democratic nomination last night despite a thumping in Kentucky and a predicted win in Oregon.
In his victory speech from Iowa last night, Obama offered praised to both Hillary Clinton and her supporters for their effort to seat a Democrat in the White House. Obama is going to need both [...]

John Edwards Hearts Obama
It’s about time, Mr. Edwards…
I was at an event in Little Rock this evening and heard some folks whispering the news that John Edwards had finally endorsed somebody in the Democratic primary.
This certainly takes something off the thumping Obama took in West Virginia on Tuesday and the endorsement has obviously been in the works for [...]

West Virginia
I started to just ignore this primary but that would be unfair to the other 45 states that have been part of what seems to be the longest electoral event in my lifetime.
Hillary Clinton will win about 65% of the vote in West Virginia today but it will hardly matter to the final outcome in [...]

Obamath
Tomorrow, Democrats in North Carolina (115) and Indiana (72) will elect 46% of the remaining pledged delegates in this primary season.
So it’s an important day for our democracy, again.
I’ve mentioned before that the reality of what remains of the Democratic primary is a battle between Hillary Clinton’s campaign and some math so simple that even [...]
