Many of you know Edward Carson, a former student of mine and a frequent commenter at my blog. Since finishing his masters at Harding in 2000, Eddie has taught at Central Arkansas Christian (Little Rock) and is currently teaching history at Houston Christian High School.

I just received this e-mail from a colleague about Eddie; he could use your good thoughts and prayers right now.

I didn’t know whom to contact, but I was hoping you could add someone to the prayer list. He is Edward Carson and his wife Jeanette. Edward was admitted today for a brain aneurysm and cyst which has been blocking the drainage from his brain. He was the European History teacher at CAC a few years ago and a member of PV while he lived here. He is currently teaching in Houston, TX. The doctors are confident in his recovery, but he and his wife know that only through Jesus Christ and God will he be able to make it. I am helping them contact everyone possible to ask that they keep him and his wife in their prayers.

Eddie: Please check in with us as soon as you can. -ME

Update (Tuesday Night): Edward is going to have surgery tomorrow (Wednesday). They now think it is a mass in his brain instead of an aneurysm.

You can sent Edward an e-mail at ecarson@houstonchristianhs[dot]org or leave a message at his blog here.

Update (Thursday Night): Ed’s surgery yesterday was very successful and they removed what turned out to be a cyst on his brain. He is scheduled to return home next week and will be back in the classroom within three weeks.

And I suspect that he’ll be updating his blog long before that. Stay strong, Eddie.
